A customer reached out after their computer hit them with the dreaded blue screen of death, that ominous error screen that means something serious is going on under the hood.
Our tech brought the system into the shop and ran some deep-level system repairs, including System File Checker (SFC) and Check Disk (chkdsk), to clean up errors and restore stability. After running those fixes, the system stayed up and running for over 23 hours straight without a single hiccup—pretty solid proof the underlying issue was resolved.
But while we had it in our hands, we also recommended a big performance boost: swapping out the old-school Hard Disk Drive (HDD) for a Solid State Drive (SSD). For around $250, it’s one of the most noticeable upgrades you can give a sluggish machine and this one didn’t disappoint.
With the SSD installed, the computer became noticeably faster and way more responsive. Startup and load times went from coffee-break length to blink-and-you-miss-it.
The customer now has a rock-solid PC that boots fast, runs smooth, and no longer throws tantrums in the form of blue screens. That’s what we like to call a solid recovery.
