Does your laptop mouse seem to move on its own? When you are typing does your cursor randomly move to other spots on your screen and mess up what you are working on? This may seem like it is caused by a bad keyboard or touchpad. Most of the time you just have to check or uncheck a box to solve the problem! The good news is that it can be very easy to fix.
Before we can fix the problem we have to know what causes the curser to jump around. Most of the time when you use a laptop your palm rests on the well... palm rest. The palm rest is the plastic to the left and right of the touchpad. Depending on where the touchpad is located on the laptop it might be right where you palm hovers or maybe you just barely tap it every once in a while on accident while typing. A lot of our clients use a mouse with their laptop so there is no need to use the touchpad. Did you know you can automatically disable the touchpad when you use your mouse? Learn how to below!
Just like lungs a computer will suffocate if it is around too much smoke and tobacco. Here are some pictures from what your computer will look like after years of smoking around it. If the fans do spin they make a horrid sound like car without oil... clank clink clank clank click. All of the vent filters around the sides of the cases were totally filled with sticky orange nastiness. Check out the video below of what the computer sounds like. Hit... it isn't good!
Hey there everyone! I taught the class "How to maintain your home PC for beginners" at the Springboro Library on January 24th. Last time I taught this class my recording had some issues so thankfully I was able to get it all working this time around. In this class we go over everything below and more. I hope you enjoy!

I have been getting this question lately, "How do I print this page". It always sounds simple but then when you cant find that darn "print" button or the little printer picture, you are totally dead in the water.
How can something done all the time, like printing, suddenly become so confusing!? This can be the case for a number of reasons, the most popular being that the button has moved from where it normally is. Or maybe it was that you upgraded to a new computer and have a fancy new Operating System (like Windows 8) that you aren't yet used to yet.
This is pretty much a in depth printing guide that every computer user needs; split for Windows and Mac users.
