How to switch between Windows 10 Tablet mode & Desktop Mode

A lot of computers are now starting to come with touch screens and they can be fun and easy to use if you know how to. Windows 10 has a great mode called Tablet mode as opposed to the standard Desktop Mode. It is really easy to switch between the two modes and might come in handy either today or in the future. So first we will see the differences of Tablet Mode and Desktop Mode. 

Desktop Mode
Great for...
1. Office environment
2. Non touch screen desktops or laptops
3. Multi monitor setups

Tablet Mode
Great for...
1. er.... tablets or laptops
​2. Fun, games, movies, etc...

How to change to and from Tablet mode:

1. Click on the notification center at the bottom right of your computer by the time and date.

2. Click on the "Tablet Mode" button, and poof there you have it.. 2 steps!

To switch back you have to click on the same notification center button and then click on "Tablet Mode" button again.

Thank you! I missed tablet mode from Windows 8 a lot. I think I may have one of very few people who really liked the easy to use interface, though.

I actually have a lot of clients that wanted tablet mode back or they just got stuck in it and didn't know how to get out of it.

Hi,

Great tutorial!

Besides using the action center or notification center, Windows 10 allow user to switch between tablet mode and desktop through system setting.

Tablet mode is great for leisure purpose while desktop mode is designed for working purpose.
