We're getting ready for a pretty substantial network upgrade for one of our business clients, and that means a lot of prep work before anyone steps foot on-site.
One of the biggest time savers for projects like this is preconfiguring as much equipment as possible in our office. It gives us a chance to make sure everything is talking to each other, apply updates, and catch any hiccups before installation day.
This particular project includes:
The client's maintenance team will handle running the fiber cable through the building, while we're taking care of configuring the networking equipment that will eventually connect it all.
There's something satisfying about seeing a stack of brand-new hardware laid out on the bench, getting configured and labeled before deployment. It might not be the flashy part of the project, but a little extra planning up front usually makes for a much smoother installation later.
Right now, we're busy configuring switches, preparing the firewall, and getting the fiber components ready for deployment. Once everything is tested and verified, it'll head out for installation.
We'll be sharing updates as this project progresses, including the installation and final setup. Stay tuned to see how it all comes together!
