Tech replacing a laptop keyboard at Layer 2 Computers
No items found.

Project Description

David owns both Layer 2 Computers and Ohio Sports Academy (OSA), which is why OSA doubles as our convenient partner facility for tech drop-offs and pick-ups. While OSA’s main focus is teaching flips, flops, and all things tumbling, their coaches and directors still depend on laptops and other tech to keep schedules, classes, and communication in order.

When one of their laptops developed a dead keyboard, they had a built-in solution — Layer 2! Instead of replacing the entire machine, our tech gave it a second chance by installing a new keyboard.

Here’s a quick look at what went into the repair:

  • Safe disassembly: Power down, remove screws, and carefully open the laptop.
  • Keyboard removal: Disconnect the faulty keyboard from the system board.
  • Install new keyboard: Fit and secure a brand-new replacement.
  • Reassembly & testing: Put everything back together and test each key to ensure it typed like new.

Now OSA’s laptop is back in action, ready for the behind-the-scenes work that keeps the gym running smoothly. A simple fix saved the cost of a new computer and kept things moving without missing a beat.

Even in a place dedicated to tumbling, sometimes it’s the tech that takes the fall. Luckily, Layer 2 is always close by to help it bounce back.
